Spielberg Mulls Over West Side Story Remake

The legendary director, Steven Spielberg, is rumoured to be keen to make ‘West Side Story’ the first musical of his career.


It has emerged that Steven Spielberg has expressed interest in remaking the classic musical West Side Story.

Although he has not yet confirmed he would take on the project, it appears Fox hare already expressing excitement towards the idea. Speilberg is one of the most renowned directors working in Hollywood, however this would be the first musical he has ever worked on.

The original film, released in 1961 won ten Academy Awards and so, even for a director of Spielberg’s calibre, there is a lot to live up to.
