There’s been a lot of speculation about a Space Jam sequel being made by Warner Bros. and according to trustworthy news site Deadline this sequel is likely set to star LeBron James instead of Micheal Jordan. however within recent hours this news has been refuted by LeBron’s ESPN sources. The 1996 original was a fantastic piece of film that blended traditional animation and live action and if there is to be a sequel it will definitely be received very well by audiences.
UPDATE: Unfortunately LeBron James himself has denied that he will be starring in a Space Jam 2 film so it looks like for now this will not be happening. The MVP and two times champion had the following to say:
“It’s news to me. I haven’t heard anything about it. Like I said, I’ve always loved ‘Space Jam.’ It was one of my favorite movies growing up. If I have the opportunity, it will be great.” Cart before the horse? Sounds like one hand not talking to the other or producers with an idea that hasn’t fully been brought to the table.
