The trailer for the new Romeo and Juliet movie is out and you can watch it on the bottom of this page!
This one offers a more traditional take on Baz Luhrmann‘s film, which starred Leonardo Di Caprio and Claire Danes in 1996 (yeah a whole seventeen years have passed since that film OH where has the time gone!)
But apparently not enough time has past according to director Carlo Carlei, who obviously feels the world is ready for yet another version of the world’s arguably most famous love tragedies of all time, written none other than by William Shakespeare.
The film was shot in different locations around Carlei’s native Italy with the two lovers played by Hailee Steinfield (True Grit) and Douglas Booth (who played Pip in BBC’s Great Expectations). He doesn’t have quite the heart throb status Di Caprio undoubtably had at the time Luhrmann‘s version was released, but he is still quite good looking!
Damien Lewis (Homeland), Paul Giamatti (Saving Private Ryan) and Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl) also star and can be seen in the trailer. Out in UK cinemas July 26.
