Back in 2011, we met Blu in Rio (Unfortunately not physically…). The narrative followed Blu, a domesticated macaw who met sassy and independent Jewel in small-town Minnesota. With their eagerness to travel, Jewel and Blu head off on a whirlwind adventure to explore the magical city of Rio de Janeiro. Now, Twentieth Century Fox have created a sequel to the lovebirds tale and have kindly released the official teaser trailer for us to feast our eyes upon. Rio 2 follows Blu, Jewel and their three fledglings, as they embark on an adventure that will change their lives forever. Bored of living in a domesticated setting, Jewel decides to take her children to the Amazon where they can learn to be independent “real” birds. However, Blu fears he will lose his wife and children to the magical, mysterious appeal of the wild.
