Paddington Teaser Pulls Into The Station

The first look at the CGI-version of Michael Bond’s simple yet brilliant book series, Paddington, has been released

With a disappointed sigh, the first teaser for Paddington has just been released.

The film industry appears to like borrowing heavily from children’s books and TV with Alvin and The Chipmunks, Yogi Bear, Garfield, The Smurfs and most recently Postman Pat all get the CGI-movie treatment. Hopefully this little bear will fair a bit better than all of them though, given how simple yet brilliant Michael Bond’s series of books are.

In the trailer viewers briefly witness the Peruvian Bear’s journey to London and get a quick glimpse as he emerges from a post-bag at the end as well. Presumably The Brown’s are just around the corner as well.

With Colin Firth voicing the bear himself and the likes of Hugh Bonneville, Jim Broadbent, Julie Walters and Nicole Kidman also in the cast, hopefully it will be kept fairly low-key and British, like the excellent television adaptation was as well.

Paddington opens in the UK on November 28, 2014.
