A week from today the 7th Newport International Film Festival opens. Covering the weekend of the 11th-13th of October it comprises of both short and feature films from around the world in the comfort of indoor cinemas. Wellingtons optional.
Based in one of the fastest growing cities in Wales and praised for its militant independence, the festival has awarded over 60 awards to more than 45 different film-makers, hailing from a variety of countries around the world.
The awards are judged each year by a panel of both industry professionals and film fans to ensure the rightful winners get the prize. There is also an audience award voted purely on entertainment that goes to the favourite.
Feature films will be shown at the Newport Cineworld over the 11th and 13th with short films and live music at the Warehouse 54/ Meze Lounge on the 12th, after which will be the legendary after party.
