Jude Law has been confirmed as Michael Fassbender’s replacement in the upcoming movie Genius.
The film will see Law joined again with Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman, whom he previously performed with in The Railway Man. Directed by first-timer Michael Grandage, the indie film is based on A. Scott Berg’s biography, Max Perkins: Editor of Genius. Max Perkins was the editor of literary legend Thomas Wolfe. The film focuses on the friendship between Wolfe and Perkins.
Firth has been cast to play Perkins, and now Law has been cast as the replacement Wolfe, which was originally attached to Fassbender. The new pairing shows potential for award prospects following its release. Grandage and his team announced “We are thrilled to have assembled such an extraordinary team around us.”
The film will shoot in US and UK and will begin in October of this year.
