The Incredibles 2 And Cars 3 Both Announced By Disney

The studio have announced plans to release further sequels to two of Pixar’s best loved films

Great news for Disney and Pixar fans alike because the CEO of Walt Disney, Bob Iger, has revealed that they are working on two sequels to their previous films in the forms of The Incredibles 2 and Cars 3.

No other details have been announced apart from the fact that the director of the first Incredibles film, Brad Bird is back writing the second one at the moment. Back in 2007 he spoke of his ideas for a potential sequel to 2004’s huge hit, saying: “I have pieces of things that I would love to see in a sequel, but I haven’t got them all together yet, and I certainly wouldn’t want to come out there with something that is less than the original.”

The Incredibles is one of the best loved Pixar movies and won two Oscars at the 77th Academy Awards and fans have been hankering for a follow-up for pretty much the entire decade since its release.

The other film that Iger discussed was a third film in the Cars franchise. The second film was released in 2011 and wasn’t a huge hit critically, but still spawned a new set of films, The Plane Trilogy set in the same world of the Cars films.

Unfortunately, there won’t be any Pixar films hitting cinemas this year, but we do have The Good Dinosaur and Finding Dory to look forward to for 2015.
