Helena Bonham Carter Back For Alice Sequel

The sequel to Walt Disney’s 2010 film Alice in Wonderland is shaping up nicely, with new director James Bobin set to take over from Tim Burton and stars Mia Wasikowska and Johnny Depp back to reprise their roles as Alice and The Mad Hatter. Now, it looks like Helena Bonham Carter will be back to reprise her role as The Red Queen.

Disney are keeping details under wraps and Linda Woolverton’s script is a mystery, but it’s safe to assume that The Red Queen will be causing trouble once more. So far, no other cast members from the original have returned other than Carter and the two stars.

Watch out for Helena Bonham Carter in the new Cinderella, which opens on April 3 next year.

The release date for the sequel to Alice in Wonderland, meanwhile, is set as May 27, 2016.
