The long awaited Hollywood remake of the Japanese classic, Godzilla, is due for release soon, with new promotional images of the monster released earlier this week. But the new and clearer images reveals that the lizard-like monster has put on a good few pounds, causing it to be branded as “fat“, a comment shared by many online fans of the sci-fi movie. Not quite the reaction that Warner Bro’s were aiming for in their attempt to present a visually terrifying update to the 1954 original. Fans took to the internet to comment on the bulkiness of the American interpretation, one user calling the creature “chubby and cute” and many others commenting that the monster had “no neck“. The most recent trailer of the movie also reveals a new monster, Mutos, which Godzilla will fight. Godzilla, starring Bryan Cranston and Aaron Taylor-Johnson is set for UK release on May 15 and will be released in the US the following day.
