Frozen has earned $398.4 million domestically and $674 million internationally to now become the tenth biggest movie of all time with $1.072 billion in the bank and counting.
The new number one animated film of all time is not without rivals though when inflation is taken into account. Before now Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs‘ had $910m in the US if you adjust for inflation – but according to BoxOfficeMojo, Frozen is now at the top of the rankings.
Frozen is Disney Animation Studios‘ first film to join the billion dollar club. Directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee are right to be happy about this situation, only a month after their Best Animated Film Oscar win.
Currently still showing in Japan, it currently stands at $50.5 million, Frozen is now set to overtake the number nine spot, The Dark Knight Rises, which made $1.084 billion.
