The directors of Frozen, Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, have confirmed that there is NOT a full-length sequel to the Disney smash-hit in the works, and there won’t be any time soon! Apparently, the team behind Frozen had a hard enough time making the recent short film Frozen Fever, and are ready to take a break from Elsa and the gang for a while.
This is great news to those parents who have been driven insane with Let it Go on repeat over, and over, and over. In every child’s singing concert, in every supermarket, every corner you turn. Not to mention the absolutely extortionately priced merchandise of Elsa dolls, costumes, posters that every little girl HAD to have. I think the craze should have a bit of time to die down, before parents have to deal with the obsession all over again. I mean, I don’t even have a child and I am SICK of hearing about Frozen.
Although Idina Menzel claimed that a Frozen 2 may be in the works, Chris Buck has confirmed this untrue. In a statement, he said:
It’s been in the press that we are doing [a sequel], and we would ask each other, ‘Are we?’… They’d have a date and they’d have a cast and it was like, ‘OK…’
It seems there’ll be plenty of disappointed children to deal with, though.
