Another reboot of the Friday The 13th franchise has been announced by Michael Bay’s production company, Platinum Dunes.
With 2009’s previous attempt to reboot the series proving unsuccessful after Jason Voorhies’ last lone outing in 2001’s Jason X, they are apparently keen on having another stab at it.
A release date of March 13 2015 had already been laid down by the distributors at the end of last year and with the green light on the completion of the script recently a director has also now been found in the form of David Bruckner.
Bruckner has previously collaborated and directed a segment of the horror anthology hit V/H/S and that films presentation style of found footage has be suggested for the Friday The 13th reboot as well.
No word on the cast or how much of the original story will be used, but with less than a year to go before the release date, it could be a serious rush to get everything sorted out in time.
