The film is based on the biblical story Noah’s Ark, and features Russell Crowe as Noah, a man chosen by God to build an Ark to survive an apocalyptic flood that destroys the world. Aronofsky has made some of the best films of recent years, with Black Swan, Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain and The Wrestler all amongst his repertoire, but this is really his first attempt to make a film of such epic scale.
The film also features Jennifer Connelly, Ray Winstone, Emma Watson, Anthony Hopkins and Logan Lerman, and is released on March 28th next year.
