Dwyane Johnson has had an incredible year in the film industry, staring in many films such as; G.I Joe: Retaliation, Empire State, Pain & Gain and Fast & Furious 6. He has been one of the most in demand movie stars of the past decade and this isn’t due to stop anytime soon as he is signing a deal with New Line to star in the new disaster film San Andreas.
Johnson will be playing the role of a father who will travel across California in order to rescue his estranged daughter after a devastating earthquake hits Los Angeles. San Andreas is being eyed for a 3D release and is to be directed by Brad Peyton who worked alongside Johnson on the family film, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. Carey and Chad Hayes have written the most up to date version of the screenplay, however it is still undetermined if new writers will be bought on board before the production starts.
New Line has envisioned this film to be the first in a series, but there’s still not much that we yet know about this new disaster film. All we know is we’re looking forward to learning more about it and will also let you know, when we know! We’re sure Dwyane Johnson will rock it!
