Any fan of Mr Quentin Tarantino worth their salt, would surely have been foaming at the mouth when presented with the news his next venture would be into the realms of the Western genre with Django Unchained.
True to form however this particular western differs from its predecessors of decades gone by. Set in the cotton fields of the 1800’s deep south and starring Jamie Foxx as Django, a freed slave who forms an alliance with DR King Schultz to free his wife (Kerry Washington) and generally cause carnage along the way. The bizarre, unrelated dialogue and obscure references surely follow, but it would seem this genres ethos of lawlessness and violence is very much still in tact.
To wet your appetite The Weinstein Company have released this 60 second clip from the movie below. So all that is left to say is enjoy! Oh and watch out for the classic Tarantino inclusion of James Brown’s “The payback” as a sound track as well.
