Fox have found a new screenwriter to write the script for the upcoming sequel to The Wolverine, David James Kelly is at the top of the list.
The studio recently confirmed a release date for its sequel to The Wolverine,
Mark Bomback and Scott Frank wrote for the original film and Kelly is set to take over from them despite his only previous credit being the 2010 short, Straw Man.
However, Kelly is not a total recluse, he is also known for the rewritten version of the proposed Daredevil remake, again with Fox. Hugh Jackman and director James Mangold have also been noted to be attached to the project, even though Marvel have not yet officially confirmed any involvement. Both the actor and director have openly stated their desire to once again return to the film, so look forward to an upcoming announcement sooner rather than later.
The Wolverine 2 is coming to US cinemas on 3 March 2017, with a UK date to be confirmed.
