Chris Pratt and Danny McBride are in the running to star in the upcoming Knight Rider remake.

Chris Pratt and Danny McBride are rumoured to be in the running for the lead roles in the proposed Knight Rider remake.

According to Schmoes KnowYour Highness star Danny McBride is in line to voice talking car K.I.T.T, while Parks and Recreation’s Chris Pratt will take on the role of Michael Knight, previously played by David Hasselhoff in the 80’s television series.

The series, which first aired in 1982, featured K.I.T.T – an artificially intelligent car, teaming up with Knight to fight crime. The show has since become a cult favourite and spawned a number of film and television spin-offs.

While no release date has been given, the remake was first announced last year, with Brad Copeland said to be penning the script. Copeland has previously worked on the television series Arrested Development, and 2007 comedy Wild Hogs.

Pratt will soon star in the upcoming Jurassic World, as well as Marvel’s Guardians of The Galaxy, due out later this year.
