Other names in the contention for the Palme D’Or include David Cronenberg (with Map to the Stars), Jean-Luc Godard (Goodbye to Language), Tommy Lee Jones (The Homesman), Olivier Assayas (Sils Maria)Bennett Miller (Foxcatcher), and the already announced Grace of Monaco starring Nicole Kidman.

Elsewhere, the sequel to How to Train Your Dragon will be screened, celebrating Dreamwork Studio’s 20th anniversary, while Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut will also be on show in the form of Lost River (formerly How to Catch a Monster) in the Un Certain Regard section.

Cannes 2014 is set to take place from 14 to 25 May. A complete list of the official selection is available over at the Cannes website.
