The duo are joined by the original cast from the first film, with Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne and Barbara Hershey all returning to fight the forces that haunted them in the original.
In Chapter 2, the family move into their grandmother’s (Hershey) house, whilst the police investigate the death of Parapsychologist Elise (Lin Shaye) but it doesn’t change the situation because they are still tormented by the demons from The Further.
They are forced to call back the paranormal investigators to uncover the truth as to why and how Josh (Wilson) returned from The Further possessed with one of the spirits.
