With Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and the upcoming David Ayer’s Fury already in Brad Pitt’s portfolio of war movies, now the 50-year-old actor is looking to serve in World War II once more. He’s circling an untitled script that comes courtesy of Steven Knight.

The writer, who has been nominated for an oscar and scripted Dirty Pretty Things, Eastern Promises and more recently pulled directing duty on Jason Statham’s picture Hummingbird, is back and trying to house with one of the studios. Pitt’s potential involvement will no doubt push that along, and will impact the hunt for a big name director to take on the project and win big box office figures.

There are no details of the film, with no exact story. Deadline reports that it’s a romantic thriller set during the war, but no further details have been released. Pitt will next be seen in the aforementioned Fury, which may well go by another name when it arrives in our cinemas on October 24.

The famous writer, Steven Knight, has his latest writing/directing gig Locke, starring Tom Hardy and some other people’s voices, set for release on April 18 and is behind the script for Helen Mirren drama The Hundred-Foot Journey, which is arriving on September 12.

With all these exciting projects in hand, phenomenal actor Brad Pitt and writer Steven Knight will produce a award winning film about second World War.
