The latest film in the Bourne franchise has been delayed, the film which is to see Jeremy Renner return as super soldier/spy, Aaron Cross.
The fifth in the franchise has not yet got an official title and was originally planned to hit cinema’s on August 14 2015, but now it is thought that Universal are unhappy with the state of the script and have pushed the release date back to July 15, 2016.
Due to the fact that they are unhappy with the original script, written by Anthony Packham, Universal have turned to Andrew Baldwin to salvage the operation and have given him a substantial amount of time to tweak it to perfection (hopefully).
With the release date being pushed back nearly a year than originally planned it does also give Universal time to try and get Matt Damon on board for a cameo so they can tie both characters together and maybe do a partnership film in the future.
