Zack Snyder, who directed 300 and Man of Steel has written the screenplay for 300: Rise of an Empire. 300: Rise of an Empire is set at the same time as the film 300 making it neither a prequel nor a sequel.
This film is based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel, Xerxes and will be shown in the same style as 300 with it’s breathtaking visual style and cinematography. This new epic saga will take place on the sea as the Greek general Themistockles (Sullivan Stapleton) makes an attempt to unite Greece by taking the lead on a charge that will inevitably change the course of the war. Themistockles is pitted against the very large invading Persian army who is led my the mortal-turned-god, Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and Artemisa (Eva Green).
