Spanx, the label known for its form-flattering underlayers that smooth, streamline and sculpt the silhouette, has added jeans to its portfolio.
Debuting on the company’s website last week, the jeans are currently available in two styles, The Slim-X and The Signature. The Signature has a flat waistband across the top of the jean, so the whole style makes you look slimmer with a flattened tummy. This style also features a side zipper to reduce bulk in the front. The Slim-X has the slim built-in, as this style actually has Spanx sewn directly inside the front of these classic five-pocket jeans.
“The magic of Spanx does not come in the tightness of the jean, but in the Spanx magic tummy panel hidden inside the Slim-X jean and in a uniquely designed wide, shaping waistband on the Signature style. So, all the results are achieved through hidden panels and Triple Thread Technology, ” Sara Blakely, founder of Spanx, told The Washington Post. “We used the most premium fabrics combined with special wash treatments to create the softest jeans ever.“
The label has already created ready-to-wear items, including leggings, hoodies and jackets in the past, but the jeans mark its first foray into denim. Thankfully, fans won’t have to worry about heavy branding belying the secret to their trim profile, as the only mark to be found is a red rivet on the back pocket.
