High street giant, Sports Direct are in deep water after one of their products was revealed to be endorsing a Neo-Nazi guilty of burning churches and committing manslaughter. T-shirts promoting a Norwegian band, Burzum were innocent enough until a little research into the band surfaced dark information.
The bands lead singer, Varg Vikernes was released from prison in 2009 after serving 15 years behind bars for murdering his fellow bandmate. That’s not all. A self-proclaimed Neo-Nazi, last year Vikernes was charged with “inciting racial hatred against Muslims and Jews,” as well as burning down churches in the early 1990’s. The most distasteful aspect of the whole incident however, is that the image on the t-shirt references the image of the very church Vikernes was charged with incinerating.
Sports Direct are yet to release an official statement.
