Sophia Webster Accuses Nasty Gal Of Copying Her Designs

Nasty Gal have copied Sophia Webster’s clutch design. Find out more here!

Sophia Webster

American high-street retailer Nasty Gal has been accused of copying one of Sophia Webster’s signature clutches. The British label took to Instagram to voice its annoyance at Nasty Gal for selling a speech-bubble-shaped clutch bag that is similar to Webster‘s design.

The speech-bubble design has been a part of Webster‘s seasonal collections ever since she launched her brand in 2012, each season appearing with different captions such as ‘Hold Me’. ‘Touch My Clutch’ and ‘Blah Blah Blah’. The Nasty Gal version, which bears the slogan ‘WTF’, is made using fake leather and costs $48.00, while Webster’s calfskin embroidered clutches retail at £340.00. The luxury accessories label posted a photo of the rip-off bag on Instagram with the caption: “Nice Try @NastyGal #COPYCAT #SpeechBubbleClutch #SWHQ“.
