Rihanna has collaborated with make-up brand MAC to create two new Viva Glam products. Every penny from the sales will go to MAC Aids Fund to provide relief for those whose lives are affected by HIV and AIDS. The MAC brand was established by two gay men in 1985 and according to Estée Lauder, who bought MAC in 1995, the Viva Glam campaign was created in 1994 to help raise funds for dying friends. The fund has become the second largest private donor to AIDS organisations.
The campaign image features a topless Rihanna with short platinum locks wearing little else besides a ring, a tattoo and a bold slick of Viva Glam. The collection includes a lipstick at £15 and a lipglass at £14 and both capture Rihannas seductive and fearless personality perfectly. Its nice to see that this time Rihanna is stripping off in a tasteful way and for a good cause.
Rihanna is an extremely influential star with over 34m twitter followers, hopefully having the singer as the new face of Viva Glam will boost awareness for this important cause. Rihanna follows in the foot steps of stars including Nicki Minaj and Lady Gaga who have previously featured as the face of this charitable campaign.
Many people today continue to battle AIDS and its time we all put our lipstick on and joined the fight.
