Opening Ceremony have teamed up with Florist Thierry Boutemy to create a capsule collection and perfume. He is a renowned French florist and is now set to venture into the fashion world by collaborating with Opening Ceremony.
His work has featured in some of the most influential fashion publications including Vogue, AD and Elle so he is no stranger to the industry. His organic creations will be translated by the team at Opening Ceremony who will create a summer ready to wear collection as well as accessories and fragrance.
The collaboration expands to other brands as they team up to create a wide range of accessories. Opening Ceremony and Thierry Boutemy have worked alongside iconic shoe designer Manolo Blahnik, Vans and New Era to create the accessories and with Le Labo for the perfume.
The collection will, we’re sure you could have guessed, feature floral prints. To create the stunning prints, they created photographs of elaborate smashed, broken and decayed flowers.
The photographs were transformed into vivid photo real images and printed onto the ready to wear garments as well as the shoes in collaboration with Manolo Blahnik (Carrie Bradshaw would definitely want a pair), Chukka Boots, classic slip-on Vans, hats by New Era and socks by Tabio.
Partnering up with Le Labo they have created a very limited edition fragrance called Geranium 30, hand-formulated by perfumer Barnebé Fillion that will cost around £140.
Thierry said of the collaboration: “It has been a wonderful and interesting experience seeing the flowers I created transformed into clothing. Opening Ceremony allowed me total creative freedom when designing the florals/prints for this collection. ”
The Opening Ceremony and Thierry Boutemy collection will be available exclusively at Opening Ceremony stores around the world and online as of June 16th. Prices range from £20 to £300.
