It’s not uncommon for models to make collaborations with clothing brands for example Kate Moss recently releasing her second collection with high street retailer Topshop, and previous to that Agyness Deyn releasing her shoe collaboration back in 2012 with Doc Marten’s. A perfect pair if we do say so ourselves. But since the launch of the Topshop collection and even before that too, it’s become seemingly more popular for models to step off the catwalk and into the designing studio.

Warby Parker have recently announced their collaboration with model, Karlie Kloss who will be releasing a line of frames she designed herself. This collection is also not Karlie’s first, having designed jeans for tall women with Frame Denim last year. As well as this collaboration we have seen Lily Aldridge design her own range for Velvet by Graham and Spencer.

It seems only natural that these women who’s lives it is to spend their days around clothes, would take like a duck to water in the designing front. Cara Delevingne has even delved into designing having collaborated with Mulberry to work on a collection of handbags.

These collections do in fact do really well and in most cases sell out in many sizes meaning that although the pieces are focused towards what the models like themselves, they can relate to what the public are after too. So keep your eyes peeled for the next best thing, because there will be plenty more collaborations to come!
