It is clearly seen that the latest star in Hedi Slimane‘s Saint Laurent Music Project has undoubtedly been a source for much of his inspiration.
The star is no other than 60s music icon and fashion rock royalty, 67 year old Marianne Faithfull – however she isn’t the brands oldest face, that title goes to 88 year old BB King.
The “project” which began last year has featured musicians of every genre and from different decades, such as Courtney Love, Marilyn Manson, Daft Punk, Kim Gordon and many more, all of which have posed for portraits photographed by Slimane himself, and used as print ad campaigns for the French fashion house.
As of recently, the latest move is due to the trend which sees luxury brands front their ad campaigns with more mature women. The past year has already seen the likes of Jessica Lange for Marc Jacobs, Charlotte Rampling for Nars, Linda Rodin for The Row and Catherine Deneuve for Louis Vuitton.
Despite having called supermodel Kate Moss a “vampire” that stole her style, Faithfull still rocks her blonde bangs and has been rumoured to be back in studio working on a new album.
