Pop-culture sensations, the Kardashians, have been everywhere at the moment. Just about all of the sister’s have been scrutinized and adored in the public eye. In particular, high fashion model Kendall, who’s modelling career has reached new heights of late as she’s been conquering runway show after runway show.
Now, it’s Kylie Jenner’s turn to step away from the shadows of the Kardashian klan, starting with her first solo spread with V Magazine. With 11.5 million followers on Instagram, we doubt she’ll find it hard.
Although the youngest sister of the group, it is Kylie who actually has the more evolved sense of personal style. She’s much more edgier than the others, and dons a gothic-chic grunge fashion sense, for instance, she sported cropped blue hair for Kim and Kayne’s wedding, much to Kim’s dismay, (we, however, loved it). Being the black-sheep of the family, one can’t help but wonder if this rebel image translates into her real life?
“I don’t know, me and Kendall don’t follow the book or the rules or anything like that,” she told V Magazine.
In the V Magazine spread, Kylie graces the cover in a different style, with vampy nails and slick wet hair, looking very sultry and confident. So much so, in fact, that the shoot caused controversy in the media due to the fact that Jenner is still only the tender age of 17. No stranger to the camera, however, Kylie has been filmed pretty much her entire life, due to the huge success of the reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
“We don’t even remember a time before the show and before the cameras and all that,” she continued. “It’s all kind of normal to us”.
Kylie’s most recent endeavors include writing apparently, as her and Kendall have joined forces and written a sci-fic book, titled, Rebels: City of Indra: The Story of Lex and Livia.
“Originally we were going to do a book revolving around me and Kendall,” says Jenner. “Maybe high school girls or something like that. Then we decided we wanted to do something that no one expected, like a sci-fi novel. So it actually has nothing to do with our life, and that’s what we wanted.”
New fashion icon in the making, we can’t wait to see more.
