Julia Roberts made for the latest member of equality energized fundraising platform Chime For Change with Hollywood levels of wholehearted. The charity, founded by Gucci, seeks to “promote education, health, and justice, for every girl, every woman, everywhere“. Its founding committee, roping in the likes of high flyers Beyonce, Frida Giannini, Halle Berry and Salma Hayek Pinault, speak on behalf of the three key areas surrounding the female voice, hosted through the pioneering project and crowdfunding platform, Catapult.
Roberts expressed a depth of disgrace for the numbers of women falling victim to death by harmful cooking smoke – “One of my favourite pastimes is cooking a meal and enjoying it with my husband and children. But when I learned that the seemingly simple act of cooking is a death sentence for 4 million people each year, mostly among women and children in developing countries, I had to act.
