When we think of colours, edgy clothes, cats and My Little Pony tattoos, international blogger Katia from Hey Dickface comes to our mind. HTF‘s fashion team love her unique style, so we caught up with her for a chat about all things fashion and blogging related. Once you finish reading the interview, make sure you check out her blog!

HTF: Hi Katia! How long have you been blogging and why have you chosen to name your blog ‘Hey Dickface’?

K: I had my blog since 2008. At first, it was just a blog to share my pictures not my look. It was later, when the readers started to ask me more and more about my clothes etc, that I decided to make it more a fashion blog with my looks. The name Hey Dickface is from the song ‘Dickface’ by Mindless Self Indulgence.

HTF: How would you describe your style and is there someone you look up to for style inspiration?

K: I don’t think I have a style, I just wear what I like without regarding the trends. I don’t really have someone that I look up to for style inspiration but I’m always browsing on Tumblr, so loads of pictures inspire me!

HTF: How do people react to your style?

K: They usually stare haha but’s that’s because I’m in Paris and not everybody is open-minded. When I go to London, for example, it’s the opposite – I get nice reactions like “oh nice glasses“.

HTF: Is there a piece of clothing or accessory which you can’t wait to get your hands on?

K: I created a pair of Air Max 1 Liberty on Nike-ID and I can’t wait to wear them!

HTF: Who is your favourite designer/brand and why?

K: Jeremy Scott and Jean Charles de Castelbajac. I love their designs – always colourful, always “different“, if I may say. For a brand, I would say maybe Topshop or ASOS, because their pieces are always very stylish and affordable.

HTF: We absolutely love all your tattoos! How many do you have and are there any stories behind them?

K: I have 9 tattoos plus my pony sleeve. There isn’t really a story behind them, I usually do them because they’re pretty and something that I’m really fond of like cats, flowers… I only have 2 with a meaning – under my arm I have a diamond together with the words “daddy’s girl” meaning my dad is as precious as a diamond and that I will always be his little girl, and on my thigh I have a portrait of my kitty that died last year!

HTF: We obviously can’t forget your cats, who regularly make an appearance on your blog. Can you tell us something about them?

K: OOOh my cats, they make me laugh so much that’s why I’m always taking pictures of them when they do something funny or when they are cute and I can’t help it but to share them. Furby is a Persian cat, I call her the queen because she does whatever she wants, she doesn’t really listen and can only be pet when she decides to. There is also Earl, an Exotic Shorthair cat. I call him Pipi (pee in French) because he’s always peeing in the bathtub, he’s very friendly and always asking to be pet.. he’s like a toy, you can do whatever you want with him, he will stay happy!

HTF: As a successful blogger, do you have any tips you can give to those who want to start blogging?

K: Be yourself, don’t try to copy other bloggers, try to do something different like DIY etc.
