Attention all frequent Oxford Street, Topshop shoppers! Your spring summer footwear collection is about to get a whole lot more colourful come Sunday May 4th, with the arrival of South American brand INKKAS.
The Peruvian brand was founded in 2012 by designer and avid traveller Daniel Ben-Nun during a backpacking trip through South America, after he had discovered the bright and beautiful shoes made from a local textured fabric. Ben-Nun had then met with the local producers to discuss various possibilities of exposing the INKKAS brand to a global market; and with that came questions of how would the shoes be produced and sold on a global scale, but at the same time, still be able to source from Peru and maintain a continuous commitment to labour. And with that, so came the idea of INKKAS.
The INKKAS brand remains committed to giving back and maintaining sustainability within the brand with its ‘One Shoe, One Tree’ project that was launched in January 2014, in partnership with Trees For The Future.
Add a dash of colour this season for a great cause!
