Google Glass is about to become more than just a high-tech gadget as they partner up with major eye wear company Luxottica. Google Glass comes with a wide range of exciting features and will allow you to check the time, take photographs, record videos, translate your voice and send messages, all by using voice commands.
The futuristic ‘explorer’ glasses are set to receive a make over from Luxottica who own super cool brand Ray-Ban, known for their fashionable sun glasses, Oakley and Persol and also currently own the licences for Chanel, Burberry and Prada glasses, among others.
The press release has confirmed that Ray-Ban and Oakley are the brands that are set to collaborate with Google on these stylish high-tech glasses, but the collaboration could expand to their other brands at some point in the future. After all, the thought of a chic pair of Google-fied Wayfarers is enough to send any fashionista crazy with excitement, but unfortunately we will have to wait.
At the moment, Google Glass are only available to a few people who paid big money to get the privilege. Google plan to lower the price when the consumer version, which will be later this year. This is good news as the current price is over £1000, but the glasses will still carry a hefty price tag.
At least when the Google Glass and Ray-Ban collaboration comes out, you’ll be happy knowing you look cool wearing them!
