In the business of fashion, one of the best publicity-winners you can earn as a designer is having your clothes on a magazine cover (bonus points if the person wearing them is a big-name celebrity).
With their massive advertising budgets, it’s hardly a surprise that ‘the big five’ (aka Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Dior and Chanel) dominate the biannual magazine cover-scoring competition but Gucci, in particular, always seems to be the forerunner.
Although the fashion mags have only just begun dipping their toes into autumn/winter 2014, Gucci has already scored three big covers: Blake Lively and Mila Kunis wearing the same white embellished mini dress for Marie Claire and W respectively, and Kendall Jenner wearing a slightly different number for Teen Vogue.
We get the feeling that this is a sign of many more Gucci covers to come this season. It’s a good job that the AW14 collection, with its 60s vibes and girlie colour palette, is so easy on the eyes.
To celebrate the brand’s continuous commercial success, we’ve rounded up some of our all-time favourite magazine covers featuring the dreamiest of Gucci creations…
