Beyonce, patron to buxom beauty and womanly curves, has been accused of digitally manipulating an image for the sake of skinny beauty. In a picture she posted to her Instagram, the mother of one is photographed playing golf in a tiny shorts and bandeau combo, but her thigh gap doesn’t appear quite right.
With all the hype for the infamous ‘thigh gap’, Beyonce’s attitude towards female empowerment and widely known love for a curvaceous figure isn’t sending the right message to what a realistic figure embodies.
As Instagram followers immediately spotted foul play from Bey, criticism poured in to lambast the Bootilicious songstress. One stated; “Photoshopt, photoshopt, graining on those thighs…[sic],” writes one user, while another; “Seriously? As someone who sings about empowering girls and women, its a shame that you post pictures of yourself that are clearly photoshopped [sic].”
With the internet no stranger to photoshop manipulation, this most certainly isn’t the end of the thigh-gap hype, but while Beyonce’s team may defend the photograph as the result of odd posture; whatever the reason – if Beyonce’s clearly favouring the thigh-gap, we’re not sure we’re happy.
