While most of us will be around our families and showered in presents for christmas, many children around the world will not be as lucky. In fact, some children in impoverished South African communities will be lucky to even have a bed to sleep on, never mind gifts.

You could help make a change to these children’s lives though by signing up for Mellon Educate’s annual seven-day building blitz.

Mellon Educate started back in 2002 as a housing charity and over the last 10 years have helped over 125,000 people in South Africa by building 25,000 new homes thanks to the work of thousands of volunteers. The charity is now focusing on education and have already built 8 schools in Africa giving around 10,000 children a chance of a better future thanks to their Mellon Educate Results Programme.

They are now reaching out for your help as they search for volunteers to help build another school over 7 days in November 2016 to help even more children. Could you give up a week of your time and make a huge difference to 1000’s of children’s lives?

Head over to www.melloneducate.com for all the details of how you can volunteer and make sure these children have a better christmas in 2016! Check out the video above and hear from the children themselves about how much this means to them.
