I am a huge stationery enthusiast and I really miss spending the month of August scouting out all the best stationery buys in preparation for the start of a new term. Whether it was for school, college or university, I felt the same amount of excitement during the build-up to a new academic year – largely because of its promises of a fresh set of stationery.
Although I haven’t got a real need for stationery items anymore, I still love buying new notebooks, pretty pens and academic diaries. In my adult life, I like to remain fairly organised – I’m forever writing lists and I love to use a paper diary instead of an electronic one. Having a blog takes a fair amount of organisation as well, so I like to use pretty stationery to stay on track with my blog posts. There are lots of lovely stationery brands out there, some of which I love to use; others I’m yet to try to plan to. Brand preferences aside, I’ll no doubt be continuing with my yearly August stationery shop in preparation for September.
Here are some of the best places to go for snazzy stationery that packs a punch…
Paperchase
Paperchase is my go-to shop when I want some new stationery. Paperchase has a wonderful range of products and I can often find everything that I’m looking for within the one shop. It currently boasts a fantastic ‘Back to School’ collection, suitable for those who like quite quirky, fun stationery.
Waterstones
I love looking around Waterstones. Although it’s primarily a bookshop, it stocks a huge range of stationery from a number of beautiful brands. It has an extensive range of mid-year diaries, ideal for this time of year, that suit a number of preferences. Whether you want a smart and sophisticated diary or a funny, cute calendar, there’s definitely something for everyone.
Rifle Paper Co.
I’ve been lusting over Rifle Paper Co.’s collection of stationery for a long time. I am yet to buy anything from its range, however it looks absolutely ideal for any stationery lover. Rifle Paper Co. stocks a beautiful variety of products, each with super-pretty designs. I love the diaries and calendars on offer, which would be brilliant for those returning to school or university this September, or just for those who’d like to instill some (pretty) organisation in their lives.
Muji
I love the simplicity of the Muji stationery range. It is really cheap, yet the brand doesn’t compromise on quality. You can bag a range of great notebooks as well, ideal for list-making and notetaking, that can easily be popped into your bag and travelled with. Muji’s distinctly clean, fresh style is well-suited for any stationery lover.
