It’s official our annual two weeks of summer has begun, and it’s landed beautifully just in time for London’s first outdoor festival, Field Day!
Field Day will take place on Saturday 3rd June in East London’s finest green space, Victoria Park.
With the release of stage times and splits, we are more than psyched to get down there and start off festival season with an almighty bang!
This year I absolutely have to take my hat off to Field Day, as every time I saw one of their bold, simplistic graphic posters, I was naturally drawn in. Not because of the killer line up, but because, well… CATS!
I would’ve liked to have been present in the offices at the time they came up with the concept; this is a genius level of marketing! “So we already know we have an awesome product that doesn’t need to selling, but how do we make it even better and make sure people see our posters…” Cats obviously!
You might have seen Field Day calling their fans across social media to submit their cat pictures. I just wish I could have got my own to sit still, and look as majestic as some of these beauties do.
But enough of cats and their all-powerful marketing prowess.
What I really want to focus on is the new addition to this years stage offerings; The Barn.
The Barn is the brand new second indoor main stage arena. Headlined by none other than Aphex Twin, The Barn will be a gigantic hangar-like construction, with a state of the art high-powered sound system, and one of the most technologically advanced lighting rigs around. Big enough to rival the main stage!
Quite frankly to see Aphex Twin live is a rare occurrence and a unmissable opportunity, but to see him within this setting sounds like it’s definitely going to be one of those “I was there” moments.
So, Field Day, we salute you once more, for stepping up your game this year, not only with your hypnotic cat covered advertising but for your introduction of this year most talked about addition to the Field Day history. The Barn.
We shall see you in the park!
Field Day has now sold out, but make sure you plan your event by visiting their site, for all the info you need. (Field Day)
