Bank holiday is over now and everyone seems to be getting back into the swing of things, including the music industry. This past week has been a busy one, and we’ve had quite the selection of new music to choose from.
The Kenneths – Model Man
London punk trio The Kenneths released their new EP Ex on April 20th, and have now revealed the music video for their latest single ‘Model Man’. The accompanying music video is a spoof of how important it is to have a great video these days – “If you’re in a band in 2018 you’re also expected to be a marketing genius. We are told all the time how important a ‘good music video’ is, or that we should try and make ‘viral content’. We’ve even been told we should think about becoming YouTubers. So we thought we’d make a video where we do the exact opposite.”
Bleed From Within – Crown Of Misery
In anticipation of the release of their new album Era, Bleed From Within have revealed their music video for their track ‘Crown Of Misery’. This follows the band’s previous releases off the album ‘Alive’ and ‘Afterlife’. In the words of the band, this new track is a great way to gage what the record is like as it “paints a pretty good picture of what to expect from the new album as a whole; aggression, melody & groove.”
Papa Roach – None Of The Above
Papa Roach‘s new video for ‘None Of The Above’ isn’t quite what you would expect from the band, or any rock band for that matter. For the eighth video to be released from their album Crooked Teeth, this new video was shot at Beaufort Castle in Luxembourg, and features the DanceXperience ballet troupe.
This Wild Life – Hold You Here
This Wild Life is supposedly releasing a new album this year, and their new track ‘Hold You Here’ is a first look at what they’ve got in store. “‘Hold You Here’ is lyrically about cherishing the perfect moments in an imperfect world. Prioritizing people over finances, seeking love over material possessions, and appreciating the cracks in our lives that allow the light to shine through.”
Petrol Girls – Survivor
Petrol Girls‘ new track ‘Survivor’ is a powerful and emotive one, it’s inspired by the movement against sexual violence and was inspired by all the people who have recently courageously spoken up about their experiences. Check out the accompanying music video for it below.
Stone Sour – St. Marie
Stone Sour have revealed a new video for ‘St. Marie’, a track taken off of their UK Top 5 album, Hydrograd. The album, which was released last April, has gained the band their highest positions to date on album charts across the world.
Black Stone Cherry – Bad Habit
Black Stone Cherry have recently released their latest music video for their track ‘Bad Habit’. This is the second track to be pulled from the band’s forthcoming sixth studio album Family Tree, releasing later this month. Check out the music video below, where the band is transported back to 1988 in a local Battle of the Bands contest.
Towers – Milton
South Coast band Towers formed in 2016, and in that short span of time have already played alongside the likes of Sløtface, Natives, Kurt Travis and Coast To Coast.With a new EP set to be released in May, the band have just revealed their brand new video for ‘Milton’, which you can check out below.
West Thebarton – Stuck On You
Hailing from Adelaide Australia, West Thebarton have revealed the details of their upcoming debut album Different Beings Being Different, droppping 18th May. Self-described as “real Aussie straight-from-the-gut rock,” the album is sure one to look our for. In the meantime, they’ve released the video for their latest single ‘Stuck On You’.
I, The Mapmaker – Capsized
I, The Mapmaker are self-releasing their debut EP Searching across digital platforms on 18th May. “It was the spirit and candour of the band that encouraged me to become part of something that is truly special to me and everyone else in the band. I feel these attributes are what makes us as a band and form the foundation of our music.
