Having broken on to the music scene in 2004 and having a hugely successful year, it was only right that McFly were awarded Best Pop Act
at The Brit Awards
in 2005, beating off the likes of Girls Aloud
, Avril Lavigne
. At this point, their first two singles ‘Five Colours In Her Hair’
had both gone straight to number one and of course their debut album went the same way – which was also eventually certified as Double Platinum. At the time of this award the band had also embarked on their very first (sold out) headline UK tour.
