This year, rising rock act Milestones will be taking the stage at Slam Dunk Festival for the first time of what will surely be many more to come. We’re excited to catch them next month, so in preparation had a quick catch up on what we can expect from their set. Read our full interview below.

MOSH: You’re playing Slam Dunk for the first time this year – what are you expecting from your appearance at this year’s festival?

Milestones: We just really want to play to some new faces and get our record in front of as many people as possible.

MOSH: What is your favourite part of playing a festival vs. a gig?

Milestones: I love the atmosphere of a festival, being able to go see loads of bands play on different stages is exciting in itself! I think it’s a lot easier to gain new fans at festivals too; the crowds are definitely a lot more open minded to an artist they’ve never heard before.

MOSH: How do you go about switching up your setlist for festivals?

Milestones: We’re going to be dropping the ballads/stripped back songs for sure, it’s important for us to focus on how the set is going to look to our audience and if it’s something they can dig easily. We’ve already been changing small parts of the tracks so it gives us more opportunity to get people involved.

MOSH: Do you have any new tracks/ particular songs you are excited about playing live?

Milestones: My favourite track to play live is ”Eighteen” purely because we get the entire crowd to kneel down and then jump when the song kicks in, doing that at on an open stage at any festival will look tight so I’m really stoked for when we do it at Slam Dunk.

MOSH: This year’s lineup is amazing – who are you most excited to be playing alongside/ hoping to catch?

Milestones: The stage we’re on has some awesome bands to start with like Stand Atlantic & Grayscale. I’m really hoping to catch PVRIS, State Champs, Counterparts & Good Charlotte to name a few.

MOSH: Using only the bands on the lineup this year, can you create you dream tour?

Milestones: Counterparts, Knuckle Puck, Every Time I Die and Creeper.

MOSH: What are some of your best tips to surviving a festival?

Milestones: Stay hydrated by drinking lots of beer.

MOSH: What exciting things have you got lined up for the rest of the year?

Milestones: We’ll be playing at Teddy Rocks & Fat Lip festival, we’re hoping to be playing in Europe in summer too.
