Guillotine
Having recorded their EP Sapphire in 2016 and releasing it early this year, you could say Guillotine are relatively new to the game – although you would not guess it listening to their stunning debut release. At five tracks long the record highlights all of Guillotine’s contrasting strongpoints – from mastering the sombre melodies one second to attacking your eardrums with absolutely gut-wrenching blasts of sound the next. Signing to Failure By Design Records at the end of last year and even opening up for The Maine in London in March, the band have been busy at it building momentum. Just earlier this month they released an Acoustic Live Session – including a cover of Death Cab For Cutie’s ‘Cath’ – with all proceeds going to the charity Mind, and with it the band prove they’re just as enjoyable with a more stripped-back setting too. What we’ve seen from Guillotine in their short time as a band has been impressive, and we’re expecting nothing but an upward journey from here. Santhi
