The Amazons
It’s been some time since a band has been able to break out so prominently into the scene, out of seemingly nowhere, but The Amazons have more or less aced it. They’ve been endorsed by the likes of the BBC, MTV, NME and The Independent in each outlet’s 2017 watch lists, and in May of this year the Berkshire alt-rockers released their debut self-titled album. It was met with absolute critical acclaim, with many saying that the band are already fit to be performing in stadiums— so it’s only a matter of time until a larger band snaps them up for a support slot. Terms like “cookie-cutter indie” have been thrown about but with no real weight, as this four-piece know exactly what they want and how to achieve it as they continue to impress the masses this summer with appearances at both minor and major festivals.
