After a whole load of recent speculation, Rihanna has now confirmed that a Sam Smith collaboration is an actual thing that is actually happening! ERMERGERRDD.
Speaking to The Sun, Rihanna said: “He is so talented, it would be amazing to work with him. No matter how busy we are, when two artists want to work together they make it happen. He has such a beautiful voice, is a beautiful songwriter, but more important than that he is an absolutely beautiful person, and that comes across in his songs.”
Aww! Seems as though the pair are practically best of friends already. Could this be the ultimate dream team? Sam‘s angelic voice would sound perfect on a classic Rihanna power ballad like ‘Diamonds’. It would sound equally as amazing on something more up beat as Naughty Boy‘s ‘La La La’ and Discloure‘s ‘Latch’ has taught us. Could this be the first time we hear Sam take on a ghetto track like the Rihanna’s newly revealed song ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’? We’d love to see him swap those sharp suits for something a little more ‘street’. On the other hand, maybe this will be the first time a Rihanna song makes us want to curl up in a ball and cry because feels, just like almost every Sam Smith song ever. The possibilities are endless!
With both singers boasting huge armies of dedicated fans we reckon no matter what it sounds like, it’s going to be huge! We recently listed the best Sam Smith duets to date and there’s no doubt this one will be our new fave.
