Despite what the media would have you believe about Hip-Hop stars, the vast majority of them that find success will give back to their communities in some ways. Some of them do it in small ways, others donate massive portions of their wealth to communities who need it the most. We have a look at some of the most notable stars who’ve given back to the places where they originate from, often in an attempt to make sure the youths of today don’t struggle through the same hardships they did, or just helping make the places that supported them in their rise to stardom a better place.
Chance The Rapper
Chance, The Rapper has time and time again given back to his home city of Chicago. This comes in the shape of campaigns such as Warmest Winter which managed to raise enough money to get 1,000 jackets for the homeless of the city. Earlier this month Chance also helped to raise $100,000 to go towards funding in public schools. He’s so charitable in this early point of his career that Chicago gave him the ‘Outstanding Youth Of Today’ award last year.
