Bob Bryar – Second and third degree burns
During the filming of the fire-fuelled video for My Chemical Romance song ‘Famous Last Words’, drummer Bob Bryar sustained first and second degree burns to his legs, despite being covered with a fire protector. Fire torches were set to go off behind him, but the flames became too large, injuring the drummer.
Following complications during the healing process, Bryar ended up in hospital with a staph infection. In a post on My Chemical Romance’s website at the time, the band apologised for postponing two upcoming shows.
We got some really bad news in the past 48 hours. As a result of complications with a previous injury, Bob ended up in the hospital with a staph infection. He’s being monitored all weekend and we want to be by his the side whole time. Unfortunately, this means we can’t make this weekend’s shows in Allentown and Syracuse because we need to be there by his side.
