No-one Messes With Taylor Swift – 4 Times She Laid Down The Law!

Taylor Swift is one pop princess who’s not afraid to stand her ground. Here’s some examples of why you should never mess with Queen T!

Monday 22nd June 2015 will forever be known as the day one woman changed the face of music streaming forever. That woman of course is Taylor Swift, who has taken on (and defeated) Apple‘s new Apple Music platform before it’s even begun.

Queen T wasn’t happy about the fact artists were not going to be paid during users’ three month free trials. Instead of lying down and accepting the news, she wrote this amazing open letter to the technology giant in support of every artist, producer and writer who would be negatively affected by the rules. Her brilliant closing sentence says it all: “We don’t ask you for free iPhones. Please don’t ask us to provide you with our music for no compensation.” ZING! You go Swifty. We think it’s great to see her using her huge influence to stick up for the little guys.

This isn’t the first time the star has stood her ground and grabbed headlines for her strong-willed nature, either. Think you could handle the wrath of T Swift? Think again – you will ALWAYS come off worse. Here’s the proof:

Taylor Vs OK! Magazine

Two Swifties recently met their idol at a show meet & greet and also used the opportunity to announce their baby news. Taylor even sent them a card afterwards to congratulate them again, cute right?! Well yes – until OK! Magazine shared the news and made the mistake of referring to Taylor as “Harry Styles’ ex-girlfriend” (yawn) and also implied that she was in fact the one who was pregnant. Face palm! Taylor responded to this case of idiocy in the best, most flawless way possible – with an internet meme and amazing put down! We hope you feel ashamed, OK!

Taylor Vs Katy Perry

There’s been rumours for a while now that Taylor and fellow pop princess Katy Perry aren’t exactly on the best of terms and whilst no-one really knows why (did Katy steal her dancers? Were they fighting over John Mayer?), it hasn’t stopped her making an entire music video based around fighting her! Although she has never confirmed ‘Bad Blood’ is actually about KP, we don’t reckon it’s a coincidence that Selena Gomez wears a black wig pretty similar to hers. It’s also been reported that Katy has registered a song name called ‘1984’ in response, so it seems as though the cat fight will live on for a while longer – meow!

Taylor Vs The english language
Nope, not even the innocent English language is safe from Taylor Swift these days! Earlier this year the star decided to trademark a whole load of her lyrics to stop them from being used on unofficial merchandise, which is actually a pretty smart move. Trademarked phrases include “this sick beat” “party like it’s 1989” and “nice to meet you, where you been?” so if you’re thinking of making your own T Swift t-shirt instead of buying one of hers, maybe think again unless you want to be at the forefront of a legal suit with the biggest pop star in the world!

Taylor Vs Spotify

Taylor‘s beef with music streaming services started back in 2014 when she removed all of her music from Spotify. Unlike her best pal Ed Sheeran, who has praised the service for contributing to his huge success, Swifty decided to take the opposite approach. Her reasoning behind leaving the service was because she thinks “there should be an inherent value placed on art”. Spotify responded by defending themselves and simply hoping “she’ll change her mind”. This may turn out to be their biggest mistake like, ever now that Apple Music have bowed to her demands almost instantly. And we all know what happens to enemies of Taylor Swift! We’re expecting her next music video to depict a fight between a beautiful pop princess and an evil green robot (but please make sure you pay us for the idea, remember?).

We don’t know about you guys but we’re gonna stay on Swifty‘s good side. We’d much rather receive a box of kittens in the post than a court date.
