Hi, what are you looking for?

Introducing: Reckless Ambition

HTF bring to you a fresh new hard rock band from Surrey: Reckless Ambition. Delivering raunchy classic rock fueled goodness! Just what the doctor ordered, check them out here!

It’s always nice to find a diamond in a sack of coal, and this week HTF have been lucky enough to do so as we bring to you a fresh new face to the magazine, or rather four fresh new faces: Reckless Ambition.

Hitting up the Surrey Scene, this four piece sleazy hard rock band has landed themselves some pretty impressive gigs. With a slot at the infamous O2 Academy in Islington, playing in front of hundreds of rockers, as well as well-known venues such as Water Rats in London, The Forum in Tunbridge Wells, Scream Lounge in Croydon.

The band share their influences with the likes of Guns N’ Roses, Aerosmith, Black Stone Cherry and more than a handful of other Classic Rock legends.

Check out a little montage video of the band  and the bands music video for ‘Catch Me If You Can’ below.

We spoke to the band so you guys can to get to know them a little better!

HTF: Hey, How are you?
We are great thanks, a little bit tired from the recent gigs which have kept us extremely busy over the last few weeks, but apart from that we are really good thank you!

HTF: To anyone who hasn’t heard your music, how would you best describe it?
Good question! Our music reflects on hard rock stemming right back to the 70’s. We consider ourselves a hard rock band, heavily influenced by bands from the 70’s and very much the 80’s. However our music is more of a modern take on this relating to a modern day audience, through the songs and the image of the band. We still choose to write music about experiences of our own and also your classic topics such as “Sex, Drugs and Rock N’ Roll” and life in the fast lane.

HTF: Has anyone had a major influence on you?
Yeah, our band revolves around all of our influences and a lot of what we do is because of them. The bands that have influenced us over the years are bands such as Guns N’ Roses, Motley Crue, Rush, Extreme and Metallica. The bands all have awesome songs and are all great writers and they play a massive part in our creativity and musical environment. And they all look really cool!

HTF: What would be your dream gig?
Well a few of us differ on this question because we all want to play different places. Liam, our bass player says “Wouldn’t it be sick to play the Colosseum in Rome” where as our drummer Ash says he would rather be normal and play in a place like the O2 Arena. As a band all of the big gigs in massive Arenas and Stadiums across the world sounds like a dream come true, but who can deny that a small gig in a sold out sweaty, seedy little club where you can see into the peoples faces and there reaction to the music, for us these are just as important.

HTF: Our plans for the rest of the year?
We have a lot of things to keep us busy over the coming months. First of all we are in the final stages of recording our double E.P and sorting out all of the artwork and promo for that. Other than that we have gigs planned throughout the summer and into the Autumn. We are a band that do not like to slow down or take time off, we are always talking about what we are going to do next.

HTF: You shot a music video for your track ‘Catch Me If You Can’, tell us a bit about that song, was it written based on a true life experience?
The song itself was one of the first songs we had ever written together as a band. The main riff was something that had been floating around and finally got turned into a song. We didn’t really have a meaning to the song when we wrote it, we just wanted a full on aggressive approach that caught peoples attention. The video came about a while after it was written and we had been wanting to release a music video for people to see how we were as a band and to give people something to watch whilst listening.

HTF: If life is a box of chocolates, what chocolate bar best describes you?
Now that is a good question, if we were going to be a chocolate bar we’d be a selection box because we all have our own different tastes.

HTF: Is there anything else you would like to add?
Just that we have our double EP coming out towards the end of July, we’ll be promoting the album over the course of the months following the release. Check us out on Facebook and all the other usual places etc. Come to our shows, listen to our music and buy our merchandise!

These guys are definitely a one to watch! Check out their Facebook page here.
